In the free game Bloxorz, you take charge of a rectangular solid trying to move across a series of levels by fitting through variously-shaped holes. Rotating the block to get to -- and fit into -- the hole requires planning and forethought, especially as one false move can send you off the edge of the level or into a deadly trap. Later levels are more complex and will probably require repeated attempts.
A three-dimensional challenge
At its heart, Bloxorz is a very simple game: you swipe to move the block, which rolls and rotates as it moves. Your goal is to get the block to the hole in just the right position to pass through it. It's the interaction of this simple mechanic with the level design that makes for challenging, enjoyable puzzles. If you get through the free levels, more are available for purchase. There are some flaws: the author of the on-screen instructions doesn't appear to have been a native English speaker, for instance, and the graphics are pretty bare-bones. However, these don't really get in the way of the basic puzzle gameplay.
Worth a look for puzzle fans
Bloxorz is a fun, if not always completely polished, three-dimensional puzzle game with simple controls and ever-increasing difficulty. If you like puzzles, it's definitely worth trying out, despite a few superficial visual flaws.
